Role Of A Head Of Operations

As a Head Of Operations, you have a significant impact on the firm driving the operational success of the firm by managing processes, leading teams, and ensuring that all aspects of operations align with the company’s strategic objectives.

You Will Be Responsible For

What Your Day To Day Look Like

- Manage the internal “engine”, ensuring that client tasks at a firm level are well-planned, prioritized, are meeting their deadlines, and are completed at the highest level of quality 

- Operate in a client-facing role and oversee a portfolio of clients, assisting with year-end financial statement preparation, virtual CFO services (budgets, projections, management reports, etc.), and tax compliance 

- Spearhead projects that improve the efficiency of our bookkeeping and financial reporting tasks firm-wide 

- Manage several people on the accounting team (recruitment, training, goal setting, task reviews & performance reviews) 

- Get his/her hands dirty when required by helping with bookkeeping, client onboarding (ex: cleaning up messy files), sales taxes, and payroll 

- Assist with special projects from time to time

What You Need To Succeed

- You have obtained your CPA designation

- 8+ years of experience

- You have at least 3 years of experience in an accounting firm

- You have several years of experience working in an accounting function in the industry, & oversaw the full cycle

- You have 3+ years of experience managing a team, including everything from training to performance reviews

- You’re a clear communicator

- You believe in delivering awesome customer service and you have experience in a customer-facing role

- You have experience putting together financial statements, budgets, cash-flow projections, and various financial reports to assist management in making decisions

- You are picky and you have a hard time sleeping when something isn’t “just right”

- You have experience managing projects or tasks at a department or organizational level

- You are interested in productivity and implementing and/or tweaking systems to make things run smoother

- You are a problem solver

- You like working in a fast-paced environment
